The second seminar on integration of migrant children has been held in Moscow
On the 28 and 29th of October 2017 Oxfam in the Russian Federation and “Kids are kids” Integration centre jointly held the 2nd seminar on integration and education of migrant and refugee children. The seminar gave an opportunity to specialists and volunteers from all over Russia to share experience and discuss issues s of psychological coaching of migrant and refugee children, their access to day care and the monitoring of the level of integration of these children. Seminar participants also discussed plans for further collaboration, and opportunities for knowledge exchange, in particular in relation to support of volunteering and creation of textbooks and guides on teaching methodologies.
The seminar was attended by representatives of educational projects and institutions working on integration of migrants, including “Odinakovo-raznye” (Kaluga), “Hochu znat Russkiy” (Ekaterinburg), “Deti Peterburga” (St. Petersburg), migrant children club "Caritas"(Novosibirsk), “Hochu vse znat!” (Irkutsk), secondary schools and higher educational institutions, including Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, Institute for Social Policy of the Higher School of Economics, School of Public Policy of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and Durham University (The United Kingdom).
